Boys & Girls Tennis Teams Win State Academic Titles

Saint George’s boys’ and girls’ tennis teams each had the highest GPA of any 2B-size school in Washington state this spring! Congratulations to the girls’ team for their 3.819 grade point average and to the boys’ team for their 3.897 grade point average. They are both Academic State Champions for 2022!

Dragon Athletics for This Week

Track and Tennis have their District competitions this week, while Golf’s All Classification Tourament is May 19 at the Kalispel CC. For Middle School sports, Track’s Championship meet is at Chewelah and MS Baseball plays a home game on the 17th. See the Full Schedule of Dragon Athletics with times and opponents. Go Dragons!

Sign Up for Summer Basketball Tournaments

It’s time to sign up for boys or girls 2022 Summer Basketball Tournaments and play competitive ball in June! Here are the dates for the boys’ tournaments:

June 3 – 5 (Varsity & JV) @ SGS
June 10 – 11 (Varsity Only) @ West Valley High School
June 17 – 19 (Varsity & JV) @ Whitworth University
June 21 – 23 (Varsity & JV) @ Eastern Washington University

And here are the dates for the girls’ tournaments:

June 11 – 12 (Varsity Only) @ West Valley High School
June 17 – 19 (Varsity & JV) @ Reardan High School
June 20 – 23 (Varsity & JV) @ Gonzaga University

Register for SGS Adventure Summer Camp

Got an active kid who loves being outdoors? Sign them up for the SGS Summer Adventure Camp the week of June 13-17! Led by SGS Outdoor Director Melanie Mildrew, the campers will hike a three-mile loop, rock climb on real rocks, build forts, learn to use GPSs, and kayak/SUP in the runoff pond behind the Upper School. The camp, from Noon to 4pm each day, is for students entering 3rd through 5th grades this fall.

Girls Win Gold at League Track Championships

Saint George’s girls’ track and field team placed 1st at the NE 2B League Championships in Colfax on May 3rd. Kudos to Georgia Steele (1st in 400 meter race), Regan Thomas (1st in 800 meters), Josie McLaughlin (1st in 1600 meters), Kaylee Clark (1st in high jump), Margreit Galow (1st in long jump), and the winning 4×400 meter relay team of Georgia, Maggie McLaughlin, Regan, and Josie. Overall, the Dragons scored 138 points vs 86 for 2nd place Davenport. See the Full Results here. The team heads to Chewelah on May 10 for the North Division Qualifier. Go Dragons!
