Governance
Guided by people who care about education
As an independent school, Saint George's is governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Most board members are current parents or parents of alumni, though there are often members of the wider community who serve as well.

- "I’m excited about working with other parents and friends of Saint George’s to make it a great place for my sons to learn and grow in the future."
Caren Furbeyre , Class of 1973, Current Parent, President of Board of Trustees
The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the school. It oversees Saint George’s financial and fiscal health and hires and evaluates the Head of School. Standing committees include Finance, Investment, Governance, and an Executive Committee. The Board also appoints Task Forces for working on timely and pressing issues for the school such as strategic planning or campaign management. Each year the Governance Committee nominates new trustees to serve up to three three-year terms on the Board.
The Board meets approximately nine times a year – monthly during the school year – with a day-long retreat in the fall. Agendas and minutes are posted on the website so parents and friends of Saint George’s can stay up-to-date with the Board’s work on behalf of the school.
