Saint George's School 2014-2015
Annual Report to Contributors

Dear Saint George’s Family and Friends,

Empowering Individuals and Building Community was the theme for 2014-15, and this played out nicely through philanthropy as community involvement increased and the school received very generous gifts.

The 2014-15 fiscal year marks the second year in a row the Saint George’s Community of families, alumni and friends have demonstrated generous support in excess of $600,000 dollars.  These gifts and donations significantly advance the experience of the students and teachers in the classroom now and into the future.

• The Endowment has surpassed $9.2M in value. This fund is comprised of approximately 25 smaller funds that are invested as a whole.  Returns from the Endowment contribute over $300K to the annual operating budget.  Thank You!

• The 2014-15 Annual Fund reached new participation marks.  Parent Participation set a new high mark of 75%, with the 2nd Grade families at 100%.  The Board of Trustees and the Faculty & Staff also donated at 100%, making the 2014-15 “Power The Dragon” Annual Fund a huge success!  Thank You!

• The Fellows Main Scholarship was established in 2010 by Dr. Elizabeth Welty in her mother’s name.  This past year, Dr. Welty provided a generous gift to establish the Christine Fellows Main Endowed Scholarship Fund.  During the 2015 Auction, the raise-a-paddle appeal raised over $100,000 to bring the current amount in the Fellows Main Fund to nearly $210,000. Just as exciting, the Hannah Joss Fellowship has now been fully endowed at $191,000 through the generosity of our donors. Thank you!

• Restricted giving also helped to established and strengthen several school programs.  Restricted gifts to the robotics program allows students in the Lower and Secondary Schools to get involved and develop skills that have helped them compete at the World Championships.  Two new athletic programs, Golf (Boys and Girls) and Girls Soccer have also been introduced.   The first two years of each program were funded through restricted giving and have been added to our operating budget.  Thank you!

Thank you again for the generosity and support shown to Saint George’s School, the students, the teachers and the mission.  Go Dragons!
