How do I apply for my child’s admission to
Saint George’s School?

Parents need to complete the admission application form, applicant personal history and request for records and mail them to Saint George’s School with the required fees. Submit photocopies of current grades and report cards, and the latest standardized test scores when applicable.

How does the school gather information about a candidate?

We rely on interviews and campus visits; report cards or transcripts from the candidate’s present school; academic references; standardized test scores (when applicable) and our own admissions test. Our aim is to obtain as much information as possible in order to determine that we can successfully support the candidate’s academic needs as well as their social, emotional and physical needs.

Is there a deadline for submitting an application?

We accept applications year round. However it is best to submit your application in the fall prior to the year you would like your child to enroll. We begin scheduling classroom visitations in November and admission decisions are generally announced by April. Families have about two weeks after notification to reach a decision.

What are the school’s hours?

School hours are from 8:25 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. in the Lower School, while the Middle and Upper School hours are 8:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.  Staff-directed after school activities such as tutorials, sports practices, drama rehearsals, and After School Care (for Lower School students) are from 3:10 to 5:25 p.m. A late activity bus leaves school at 5:30 p.m. serving a consolidated route.

Do you have after school care?

Yes, for Lower School students. After School Care is offered every day that our Lower School is in session. The program runs from the end of school until 5:15 p.m. The program consists of a snack, outside play, and staff-directed arts and crafts projects or group games.

Do you have bus service?

Saint George’s contracts with a reputable, independent bus company to operate a number of bus routes throughout the greater Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area. Most buses meet students within two miles of their homes and in many cases within several blocks or at convenient community stops for students residing in outlying areas. The system travels throughout the city and as far east as Coeur d’Alene. After school activities are serviced by a bus leaving daily at 5:30 p.m., which delivers students to central drop-off points throughout the city. Do students wear uniforms?

We do not require uniforms. Student dress is expected to be “neat, clean, and appropriate.”

Do you serve lunch?

All students bring their own lunches and snacks to school. In grades K-5, students are given free milk at lunchtime. All students have access to microwaves to heat up their lunch.
